Your gateway to an Australian education
High quality education, internationally recognised qualifications, a competitive cost advantage and high quality life-style in a safe, multicultural society are just some of the reasons that see increasing numbers of students considering Australia as an excellent study destination.
Your search for an Australian education qualification should begin with identification of a course that best meets your requirements. As you will have seen, Australian institutions offer a wide range of courses with diverse specialisations and therefore students need to invest time in selecting the right course that meets their requirements. The decision to study abroad is a significant one, and there are many considerations to take into account.
Information is available directly from the institutions in Australia or from their appointed representatives here in India or from Australian Education International (AEI). Often, representatives from the institutions will visit India to interview students or to participate in exhibitions - details are generally advertised in the daily press.
A wealth of information is also available through the Australian Government's official website for international students:
www.studyinaustralia.gov.au
The Australian Education Centre located at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi, is a facility that provides information that is comprehensive, authentic and objective. It does not recruit students for any particular Australian education institutions, though it can refer you to them on request. It aims to give students the best up-to-date advice about their options for studying in Australia. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the AEC or alternatively they can correspond to get required information.
Australian Education Centre provides objective information. We do not recruit students for particular Australian universities or other education institutions, though we can refer inquiries to them or to their agents in India. At our centre in New Delhi you will find:
• Information materials from Australian education institutions on courses, institution facilities and life in Australia.
• Internet access so you can visit education institution websites.
• Friendly staffs who will answer all your questions and help you determine the most appropriate course option for you, based on your interests, academic background and career goals.
You can call into the AEC in New Delhi during working hours. Students seeking information from outside Delhi can phone, fax, e-mail or write to:

Education Agents: Australian education institutions have authorised agents to represent them in India. These agents can provide you with information about the education institutions that they represent and help students to apply for enrolment and facilitate the application for an Australian Student Visa. Make sure that the agent is an authorised representative of the institution that you wish to apply to and understand any fees that may be levied for using their services.
The Australian High Commission does not authorise any agents but supports an agents’ association AAERI (the Association of Australian Education Representatives in India). AAERI members have to abide by code of ethical practices which requires that they provide services to prospective students in a manner which reflects the established practices of the Australian education and training sector on the one hand and safeguards the genuine interest of prospective students on the other. A list of AAERI members can be found at its website at www.aaeri.org
